Behold your Dawnlord, Targossas. A man who darkens my doorstep seeking my intercession and an end to the conflict he created, speaking of pride and the impediments it poses. A man who, two months later, spontaneously announces that he will lay down his arms although I did not offer him the guarantee he demanded, without leverage as he was. A man who just as quickly reverses his decision and attempts to escalate the selfsame conflict further, purely because his pride was pricked.
Let it be further known that neither Ashtan nor the Cult of Babel asked for "clemency." The Keeper sent one of your Lumarchs a missive, shortly after the Dawnlord's initial post, proposing that those of low rank in the Eastern army be allowed by both parties to formally recuse themselves in spite of the public decree that my citizens would face "the full and unrelenting force of Their army." She offered this without demanding any reciprocal guarantee toward Ashtani. Lumarch Myrddin refused, attempting to reframe this offer of - yes - clemency as a sign of weakness and weariness on the Cult's part, and the specific requests and complaints made to me by the Dawnlord suggest that he did so without communicating his decision. Behold your leaders, Easterners, and understand that it is their impetuous pride that induced whatever suffering you have undergone these past months.
My answer is no. If the Dawnlord seeks someone to stroke his ego, he will have to look within his own walls.
