While I will admit I do not wish to see a project like the one your source describes turned onto the world, I do have to wonder what it is about this particular source of destruction that has you riled up.

There is a pending dooms day at least once a century, and nearly every city and most faiths are pursuing some world ending goal or another. While I do not want (another) giant bomb thrown at the Gate by Hashan, it would be trading one disaster for another, if Hashan destroyed Eleusis before Eleusis manages to destroy Civilization in the name of Nature, or should P.E.A.C.E eliminate Mhaldor before their eternal pursuit of Strength leads them to conquer the world, or Ashtan before Oblivion wipes us all out.

Oceanus comes for us all, and some day the Sea will reclaim all the land that you are worried about preserving, from P.E.A.C.E. or Nature or Strength or Oblivion, or whatever the coming apocalypse of the 'morrow may be.

I find no more or no lesss reason to fear from this news than I do from whatever end of all things you are pursuing at the moment.
