To those recently lost, exiled, adrift, or alone:

Hashan welcomes you with open arms.

I have never understood Cyrene. But as a casual observer of recent events, one thing is clear - Hashan is now the only remaining free city in these realms.

While some place collars around their necks and the necks of those around them, doggy paddling their way into subservience, we still embrace the ideals of freedom, diversity of thought and expression, and free agency.

Hashan was founded by those who wished to avoid conflict. I myself moved here centuries ago to escape what seemed a never-ending war between Ashtan and Shallam. Refugees are welcome and there is no need to commit for a lifetime. One simply needs to affirm that they will reject stagnancy and oppression and abide by our simple, common-sense rules (the first city to establish formal laws, incidentally).

In our midst we have followers not just of Lord Twilight, but of Lord Phaestus, Lady Ourania, Lady Valnurana, Lord Prospero, Lord Vastar, Lord Lucretius, Lord Haskor, and yes - Lord Neraeos - and these are only the ones that I am aware of. Others choose to revere fallen Divine, and a sizable contingent rejects worship of the Divine altogether. My belief is that this diversity is perhaps our greatest strength, and on a more practical level, makes our city an interesting place to live!

I would note that I hold no significant position or power in our city. I make this post as an individual citizen of no particular renown. I do so without fear or even concern as to what our Regency might think, and I am able to do so because we value free agency above almost all other ideals.

Do not sacrifice your convictions for the sake of authority. Come visit us at our Crossroads and say hello, or if you feel ready to take the leap, I imagine Ambassador Laytron would be happy to hear from you.
