Grief

Written by: An ancient, white-haired woman

So I have foreseen, and so you have seen: doom came from above.

I do not come to gloat. I come to offer pity and compassion. Much has been lost:

Two temples to the Divine, one temple to art. Palaces and mountains, villages and fields, heroes and cowards.

But this is not all that has been lost, is it? Look back further than a scant few months and we have lost Gods, cities, homes, ways of life, family and friends. Perhaps you have lost your faith, or perhaps you have lost your riches. Love is ever fleeting. There is no shortage of endings in this world.

So come. Bring all your grieving and your grievances, bring all your tears and your fury. Leave shame and decorum at home for they only hinder your catharsis.

The lucky few may even find that what they lost is closer than they ever knew.

Shastaan's well, on the fifth of Ero. You have known a long time.

Penned by my hand on the 12th of Scarlatan, in the year 981 AF.
