Then do it.

Constable of no prior renown,

I agree with you. Many have fallen to the trappings of using what rare solutions they manage to find, failing to realise how it is seen by their less fortunate brethren. 'We found our cures,' speak the many health organisations of Sapience, but most of those fail to be replicated, being relics of old age, limited as everything else upon Creation. Yet we have what may potentially become a solution for all: either the lemons that Aster Malik has hoarded and is possibly still producing by the hands of its disenfranchised serfs, or the Blood Oranges that are not grown yet and that are currently serving more as physical proof of our continent's fear and ignorance - not that I am not pleased to witness this spectacle when I know its futility.

Recently, I told myself in my mind that I will not make use of a cure until a source is secured for my city's commoners - expecting it to be the Blood Orange, as it happens. Today, I extend this to Sapience as a stated promise, with an invitation for other adventurers to follow suit. This, perhaps, will offer some measure of reassurance - you will not find my lips healthy until yours are.

But this is not why I am making a post. I am making it because as much as I would hope to see motion among the unseen, as much as I would like to see rebellion and rise, what I see now is no more than churning at the base. You rebel, but your rebellion is misguided, born of demand for change but yet without a path to it. You lash at adventurers, while it is they who brave the many threats against Sapience and it is they who defend you when other nations come to slaughter you.

Here is what you can do, and have not done yet. Rise up and join in securing the tree that is getting assaulted by the forces of Mhaldor and that other adventuring nations do not deign to consider because their suspicions outweigh your well-being. That includes you, Eleusis - your leadership chose to leave a sapling of Nature to rot and wither by the Infernal hands without as much as a consideration that it may save your people, only because some leaders do not trust other leaders about the source. Or, seize the lemon plantations on the distant continent of Meropis and deliver the produce back to Sapience. To put it simply, show that you all are capable of writing history, as adventurers do.

But if you will not do that, then step aside, as you often do, and stand witness to the established actors deciding your fate once again.

Personally, I look forward to seeing what you pick.

To unloose,
Ser Ulvin Devi
