Different people, different thoughts

Hail Darkwalker,

You might reference your listed posts, and discover that rather than being evidence of some grand change or conspiracy in the village of Eleusis' ideology, it instead represents two very different individuals, who each have their own personal faiths and beliefs in interpreting the Earthmother's will.

In neither case do they speak for Eleusis, as much as their counsel remains ever-welcome.

Such speaking is, unfortunately, my duty and responsibility. In that, I wish to amend some of your misunderstanding, as much as I know it to be willful. These are words that I have shared plentifully with those of the village, and happily share even to those who will likely twist and turn them into whatever shadows they wish to shout at.

Eleusis is an attempt to prove that thinking kind can find itself living in harmony with the Natural world, in the tradition first established by the Aalen Kingdom, and likewise in the distant north by the City of Stars. We do not claim that our success is guaranteed, nor do we cling to the belief that we have any right to Her world. Instead, we strive each day to build our harmony and prove that in such things, we can prove to the Earthmother that not all minds twist towards civilising and destroying and ridding the world of the wild places.

It is not an easy, nor simple life, as much as civilisation often wishes to paint Eleusis as a rustic idyll.

There is a sort of death that comes to peoples, and to places, and even to ideas, that is far more lasting even than wanton slaughter, the salting of fields or burning of books. It is the smothering sameness that civilisation wishes to burn across the world, a smothering sameness that comes from having nothing that you stand for besides the pursuit of power, wealth, or material good.

It is this death that Eleusis stands ever-vigilant against, because we know that to fade into that civilising sameness would mean the end of our harmony, and the start of those tiresome squabbles that seem to never cease spilling forth from those cities that surround us. Such a death would be the very proof that thinking kind cannot truly find harmony in Nature.

Thus, with a vigilance honed by decades and centuries of the world conspiring to mold us into its civilising image, we continue to nurture this sacred harmony, and prove to Her, and the world, that there is a path beyond the stone roads and iron walls of civilisation.

A path that we will always tend until we are returned to Her, as the cycle demands.
