Dark Salutations,

I admit I have not read every post written to this board, but within my limited vision, I've yet to see any sign that Grandue is capable of uttering anything that deserves the title of wisdom. If chaos truly is vitality and change, why indeed has humanity spent the past five millennia of its existence learning new ways to accept its inferiority before the Firstborn they were supposedly destined to one day rival?

I personally do not find it likely that the Gods fear the creative power of Chaos, but instead its destructive power, for it is the first force in known history to threaten Them. This itself is a reasonable, rational fear.

However, I do not think these thoughts needed to be stated. To me, they are obvious, and there is little value in stating the obvious unless there is an earnest student who does not yet see it. I do not think there are many who come to this board for such philosophical lessons, and therefore that is not the subject of this post. Indeed, it serves only as context for my true point.

Although I care little for offices, and therefore I am both a Hashani and a Darkwalker of relatively low status and little importance, I will nevertheless give you my own response.

We are well aware of the threat that Ashtan poses, having fought them in your place while your city was weak. However, we are also well aware of the threats Targossas and Eleusis pose.

Although you are not of Eleusis, it is rather amusing to see them go from the ancient decree of "living in harmony with nature" (as recent as Public #21640, and certainly much older) to the High Warden of Nature to admit in Public #21796 that there is ultimately no harmony with nature for mortals, only a slower death.

I wonder if the ascended Aldar of the planes of Order will accept the half-breed humanity now that the King is away tending the flames. Although I am fortunately not human myself, my own race is not untouched by chaos. Indeed, nothing we know is. I do not know the answer, but I have felt, through ordinary attunement with the realm of Death, time and time again, Targossians sacrificed to be purified by His fires. Are you yet pure?

So, do not think Ashtan is the only threat upon this realm. I have not yet even spoke of Lord of Evil. Of course, I personally like to think Hashan is also seen as a threat, for the chains of zealotry we seek to destroy seem to be comfortable indeed, though I have never cared to wear them myself.

Despite the lengthy pretext, my actual answer is quite short: We are busy fighting you and Eleusis.

If you want Chaos dealt with, deal with it yourself.
