Tarnished Steel and Stolen Honour

Kinilan Demaxx,

I need not tell you that you have been a controversy among the Knighthood for centuries. Once a Maldaathi Knight, once a Warden Knight, the first recorded Knight to be stripped of their title by their own House, but you have worn it in your exile ever since.

With the refounding of the Guild of Knights, I have looked back upon our history with a critical eye, to preserve the acts that brought us honour, and set aside those that did not. Your case, too, I was prepared to revisit with an open mind, to re-examine if your punishment fit the crime. My own honour bears stains, and I believe few Knights cannot be redeemed.

But my entreaties to you went ignored. Other Knights approached you, and they went ignored. Now you have been cast from Hashan for acts patently dishonourable, and this we cannot ignore. As custodian of the Seleucarian tradition, practiced by the Inheritor Guilds and their Successor Houses, we cannot allow you to tarnish the accolades we wear.

So long as you wear a Knight's title, the Guild of Knights will challenge your claim to it. We shall challenge you to the dueling ring. We shall challenge you upon the seas. We shall challenge you to display the stolen Honour you clad yourself in, and when you show none, let all the world see that you are not one of us, your title naught but a charlatan's lie.

In honour eternal,
Ser Aerek Ancyrion

Penned by my hand on the 16th of Glacian, in the year 920 AF.
