The Next Step

Illustrious Chefs of Sapience,

Following the display of skill and cool under pressure that you all put on for the benefit of myself and my fellow judges, I invite you to partake now of the true crux of this competition.

Impressed as my household was by all of the chefs who acquitted themselves with such resolve and skill, my preliminary congratulations go to Samel, of Targossas. Well done!

Ultimately, however, a chef's worth is measured in what they are able to produce, by their own hand.

Distill therefore the essence of who and what you are into a single dish: be sure to represent yourself, your skill, and your aspirations as a professional cook via the food you produce.

Your dishes must be finalised for presentation by Serenade of the month of Daedalan of the year 917.

Each entry must be described upon a presentation card I will be sending each of you as of this missive.

Once the dishes have been submitted, you will be summoned once more to my Keep to serve your dish to each of the judges and myself. My sons, Denod and Radlar, shall be judges once more, as well as my baker, Ashkal. Ensure you bring enough for all four of us to taste your offering.

Upon sampling your dish, every judge will assign it a score out of a total of ten possible points. As I retain primacy in matters relating to my Keep, I will have a full twenty points to allot to each dish.

This means that the highest score your dish can achieve is a total of fifty. The dish that comes closest to this maximum will be declared the winner, and its chef will win the position promised in my original missive.

As this is a complex decision, understand the results will be announced via this medium when consensus has been reached, rather than immediately following the tasting portion of the competition.

I expect nothing less than perfection, and I am confident in your ability to reach those heights.

Let us see what you are capable of!

Regards,

Lord Adryn
