Disappointment

Argwin,

You disappoint me, keeping your head in the sand. I have no reason to lie. You should know me better than that.

The 21 books passed from Danna to Bellis, from the Anachine library were donated to the CIJ, by Bellis for safekeeping. Those other 10 books, my dear, were returned willingly and happily to Andraste, the speaker at the time, who was completely and utterly aware of everything that followed with Anatral. I suggest doing your research and fact-checking before you make such public accusations, my friend.

As for the reneging of the deal, I still hold to that sentiment, as I stated above, Andraste was completely and utterly aware of everything that followed with Anatral, and seemed at peace with the decision. So to us, yes, Eleusis reneged. It was not Anatral who came at us after a decade, it was Eleusis.

The books do indeed clearly hold sentimental value, I never said the sentiment was held by the CIJ. You must learn to actually read what is being stated. You must apparently also be taught the nuances of humour, did it occur to you I added that little part of "potentially vetting offers" just to poke a little more? To show that we will not be ploughed over by threats of violence? The books are absolutely not a means to gain wealth for us, we are not viewing this as some huge opportunity to cash in, even if you all presented us with the opportunity by attempting to air dirty laundry and smear us as the villains in the situation. We are also not demanding anything of Eleusis, do not put words in our mouths.

Again, we are not attempting to gain any wealth via the books. Your speaker has no backbone indeed, it's quite apparent she's still a puppet for Aodfionn, but that is neither here nor there. As to holding her to the "king's ransom", when she took over as Speaker I reached out and asked if the situation was going to continue or not and if so if the "king's ransom" was still the option and asked what SHE considered that to be, and what the Village was willing to pay. It is called negotiation. Neither party accepted the other's offer, ending the discussion.

Again, we never demanded anything of Eleusis, Eleusis is the one making all the demands in this. Please, get your story straight.

I state your library is not secure, because it doesn't appear to be, considering we're in the situation we're in. I am hoping it has been resolved, truly. The books may have been stolen, but the CIJ received them as a donation. And yet again, I must point out, we are not demanding anything. The books wouldn't be available to the whole world, being in Eleusis, this is true. Enemies would not have access and let's face it, there have to be plenty of enemies to your Village. Our library is indeed an alternative, as one only needs to ask to see our library, and Estate for that matter, this has always been public knowledge.

Who said we don't intend to do just that? You make an awful lot of assumptions in the attempt to paint us as the villains when we neither stole the books nor demanded anything from Eleusis. Again, Eleusis is the only one who has been demanding things in this scenario. We are not hiding anything away, again, all one needs to do is ask. Did we make public these books were donated, no, no we did not, because there was no need to do so?

Again, my dear Argwin, you are wrong... We never offered to sell the books back. We were approached, rather rudely I may add, with "Give us the books back or we become violent.", not wanting that, we sought another option to settle things and clearly, an agreement could not be reached. Stop putting words in our mouths and spreading lies about us trying to extort, we are not extorting Eleusis. We never once stated "pay us what we want or else.", so just stop. Can you blame us for seeing the comedic irony of the opportunity you all presented us, by attempting to make us look bad to the world? How could we not jump at that, even if just for the fun of ruffling those feathers a little more? You cannot tell me similar ideas haven't run through all of your heads.
