Faith

You may as well point to the sun and suggest that though Lady Mithraea is long gone from the world, the dawn rises resplendently unfaltering in the sky through some constant of Man.

Her light was consumed by the malicious hunger of the undead Scaerunax. Her constellation too was torn from its seat in our heavens, and yet those who called themselves Mitran still have faith in Her.

Faith is a personal conviction held so strongly that it supersedes all that came before it and all that comes after. You are changed by your Faith and the world is changed through your new perception and the way it behooves you to act.

It has naught to do with the unknown or any insurmountable challenge. Existence is all the challenge needed to cause one to ask themselves what do I believe? Whereupon do I rest my cup of faith to be ever-filled?

The only misdirection present is that which you endeavour to employ. You mislead the world-at-large into believing that Divine worship is a folly. That all our faith amounts to is admiration of beings greater than we mortals.

You miss the mark entirely. Faith is not hero worship. It does not require proof that it is well-placed. It exists despite proof's existence and beyond the point when the hero falters.

The sun could cease to shrine entirely. The world could become wholly infected with the plague of pacifism. And yet I would believe and act on that belief as I have done many a time before.
