The Last City

"Cyrene is the Last City." Do you know what that even means?

You claim mortal agency, and in the same writing, you cite to a title bestowed by one of the Divine, that prophesizes the subjugation of our entire world to His realm.

You are not heirs to Seleucar. You have done nothing to earn such a title. Seleucar was an empire that subjugated all cities to its rule. You cannot even maintain your own home, it having now been confiscated from you twice by foreign powers. It is curious that you think you could be the Last City at all, when your continued existence seems to constantly be threatened.

You wish to be what your betters already are: an independent city state that stands for mortal will and mortal progress. Perhaps you need to learn to walk on your own two feet before you reach for the stars.

Unlike you, who bow in terror to the Sea, the Court is not "devoted" to Darkness. We stand for ourselves. We do not await the day a Great Wave will conquer all who live on the land. We do not grovel to Nature or Light to seek their aid. We work, here and now, to bring about a world we can be proud of. What have you done?

In Progress,

Farrah Roualt
Regent

Penned by my hand on the 15th of Glacian, in the year 853 AF.
