On Mortals and serving a Divine

Goddess,

I will not comment on Silas's post, I don't particularly care for the affairs or politics of Targossas or the love life of Lyndee, my interest on this matter has been more personal for those I know and respect caught up in what can only be called, a mess.

As a Divine, respectfully I fear Your perspective clouded. You cannot possibly comprehend the value and dedication we put into our service, or the feelings of fulfillment most who pledge to a Divine feel. Perhaps we don't fully comprehend the Divine we serve, but that is part of our service to a Divine, for we will always be learning, and sometimes even that is enough for us.

In my service to my Lord Father, I never believed or claimed to know all about His way. I never claimed or believed that I truly understood everything about Him. I serve the DwarfFather because of the ideals He has taught, the love He bears for my people and His Family, and because I feel His way serves this world and its inhabitants better than all others. I will always, without hesitation, dedicate my life in service to seeing the ideals and values He espouses and teaches spread to those who can appreciate them, while opposing ideals that are anathema to His. If that means I "crusade" in His name? So be it, if He takes exception, I have no doubt He will make it known to me. Our lives are ephemeral, and we must make the most of what we do with them, if we choose to dedicate them to a cause we consider greater than ourselves, what right do even The Divine have to criticize that choice? And with all due respect Lady, what right do You have to judge us for it?

I trust the Lord Smith to not abuse or misplace the trust and love me and mine have placed in Him, and should He, then I will be proven wrong, but I won't regret a moment I invested into being so proven wrong, for every second I will have done what I loved, and it will have been my choice. I hope those who follow You feel the same.

Forever in His Service,

Sir Eril Rian-Moonshadow, Hand of the Smith
