Gratefulness

Thank you.

I write this with complete sincerity, truly, though I know you will doubt My motives. While you laboured incessantly and obsessively about Lyndee's personal life in some absurd quest for 'Truth' - as if such a thing is even something you could ever grasp - it was Ashtan that proved themselves the valiant saviours of Sapience. While you reduced the Goddess you so claimed to love to a single word for your own agenda, the true power of Chaos ran unopposed. I will not reveal the private matters of others on the public news, and no doubt you have some idea of what I refer to already. You would, without a doubt, know exactly how miserably you have failed if you had actually focused on this so-called duty to Creation instead of throwing a fit over an imagined scandal for the past several years.

Through this, you prove Me right: it is no place for mortals to crusade in the name of the Divine, because you do not even understand Us. I am entirely indifferent to Aurora's goal, as should be evident, and yet even I feel what could only be termed as secondhand embarrassment that your poor attempt at playing the Fool is, in your mind, exactly what the Bloodsworn 'truly' are or were. All because you never even began to comprehend.

It is with a stunningly casual tone that you admit to the fact you cannot put Creation first, and thus do show your commitment to so-called Truth. The truth that you will never understand Aurora or Deucalion, the truth that you will always, and forever, only be a mortal. Petty dramatics are the heart of your life, not Creation, and in so boldly confessing to it on the public news, you have done much for My cause.

Note that this is not an insult. Petty dramatics should be the heart of your life, because Creation is a concept far too large for you that has no bearing on your everyday. You can barely leave this little world without assistance. What does it matter to you, truly, if Chaos claims everything, aeons from now? What does it matter to you, truly, if Sartan is the eventual victor among Us? The small chance that this will happen during your lifetime does not make up for the more likely probability that you will be long gone by then. And if, by some chance, I am wrong, so what? All things must end, even Us. Your lives are pitifully wasted if you live them in fear of this most basic truth.

And so, Silas, with all My earnestness: continue to focus on your personal relations, on your day-to-day, on the mundanity of your lives and love affairs and goals.

It is what mortal life is all about.

Penned by My hand on the 23rd of Lupar, in the year 840 AF.
