Hail, Sapience.

Welcome to the tenth month of the Asterian Festival of History.

Consult Public post #20714 for instructions on how to participate. Those who complete at least six months' worth of tasks and/or events will earn a truly unique historical memento; the more months you complete, the more intricate your reward.

Note: You are only required to complete either ONE task or attend ONE event per month to qualify, and you must note this in your journal. You can complete the tasks of previous months that you have missed as well - simply refer to the correct post.

Theme
------
While the identity of the Divine associated with the month of Chronos is uncertain, what does seem known is that it relates to time. Time heals all wounds, erodes all life and dulls all memories. Its passage creates history as future becomes present becomes past, and in doing so, ravages unpreserved knowledge and creation. Therefore, the theme of this month is: time.

Monthly Journal Task
---------------------
Time is an inexorable and inevitable force. The more time has passed, the more details of occurrences and events are lost, and the more inaccurate they tend to be. Historians must then scour the archives and visit original locations to reconstruct the tale, imagining what might have been, in order to piece together a picture of the past.

[Task] Embark on the Path to Seleucar by retracing the footsteps of one of the greatest mortals to ever have lived - Nikolas, now known as Nicator - in his journey to found the legendary city.

You will start in the town centre of New Thera. TOUCH the MONOLITH there, then read the inscription upon it. A clue to the location of the next monolith will be in the final paragraph before the question. The monoliths must be found in the correct order for them to yield their knowledge, so that Nicator's journey can be followed as faithfully as possible.

Answer all questions on the monoliths in your journal.

Events
-------
The key event this month is the Asterian Ball, which will be held in the Hall of Visionaries in the Asterian Athenaeum. Participants will have a chance to earn unique tokens from participating in Restoration-focused activities, listen and dance to music from accomplished performers, and preview the reward for completing a full journal for the Festival. See Public post #20725 for more information.

In much the same manner as the recent Reckoning, the World History Quiz will also be held late this month. You may be organised into teams and have representative answer questions, but this is subject to the number of participants.

Refer to AD 192 for dates and use DATE to more accurately gauge the time.

Exhibitions
------------
The second Crafters' Fair remains at the convention grounds of the Asterian Restoration, featuring an enormous variety of crafted goods for sale from all over Sapience. Head north and northeast from the Aster Crossroads to find it.

The featured item in the austere gallery at the Asterian Restoration is a golden window that depicts particular locations in history, some of which no longer exist, every time it is OPENed and CLOSEd.

The travelling merchant continues to wander the Asterian Restoration grounds. You can travel there easily by TOUCHing the PORTAL at the town centre of New Thera. Ensure you are in perfect health.

The Grand Obsidian Tower in the south of Nimick, an extensive adventurer-run museum with hundreds of relics, remains open for public visits.

Any questions may be directed to myself. Enjoy the Festival.
