Hail, Sapience.

Welcome to the second month of the Asterian Festival of History.

Consult Public post #20714 for instructions on how to participate. Those who complete at least six months' worth of tasks and/or events will earn a truly unique historical memento; the more months you complete, the more intricate your reward.

Note: You are only required to complete either ONE task or attend ONE event per month to qualify, and you must note this in your journal. You are welcome to complete or attend all, however.

Theme
------
The month of Daedalan is named after Lord Daedalus, the God of Balance. Ever have we coexisted upon a precarious, ever-shifting balance of power within the realm, with factions and organisations struggling to gain purchase. The Second Reckoning is the most recent example of many such conflicts through history. Unsurprisingly, the theme of this month is: balance.

Monthly Journal Task
---------------------
History has shown that at times, it only takes a single person or the smallest of acts to tip the balance. This has held true over multiple events of note, including that of Death's Heart - one of the earliest polarising conflicts in modern history.

[Task] Read a summary of the Death's Heart events on the tablet at the bottom of the gorge in the Shamtota Hills. You can later seek out additional tomes and scrolls on Death's Heart in your city library for a more complete account of the tale, but you MUST read the tablet first for this task to count.

List down the reasons why you would support either Pryla'ka (Life) or the Quisalar (Death) in your journal. Based on your reasons, write down the side you would support.

Purchase and wear either a white (Life) or black (Death) sash from the cart next to the tablet to indicate your allegiance. CART WARES will show you the selection, and CART PURCHASE (item) will allow you to make a purchase. HELP CARTS has more information.

Events
-------
Bidding for artifacts in the Art and Artifacts auction continues. See AD 482 for the full details.

The Weight of History event happens this month. Participants will compete in a series of team-based events to balance the scale of history. Teams will be cross-factional and decided when the event begins.

Balance of Power arena events will be run in the Matsuhama Arena - combat events where one impersonates a legendary figure and battles using their powers. HELP BOP for more details.

Refer to AD 192 for dates and check UPCOMING as well.

Exhibitions
------------
The Grand Obsidian Tower in the south of Nimick, an extensive adventurer-run museum with ancient artifacts, remains open.

The featured item in the austere gallery at the Asterian Athenaeum is a terrarium, which depicts the fragile balance of the cycle of life.

The travelling merchant continues to wander the Asterian Restoration grounds.

Any questions may be directed to myself.
