Recent Antagony

Warbringer Shirszae does not require my defense, but as her Sister in arms I refuse to permit anyone to besmirch the name Aegean on these boards.

Aegeans each balance their allegiance to the Lord Commander with their respective faction's ethos and goals. You may not believe that is true. That is you prerogative. However, I'd remind you that the great lot of you are not an authority on the realm of War or the Aegean Army. Many of your citizens are, at present, its enemy because they strike at the Army as if it were Ashtan itself.

That idiocy aside, others are now claiming that the Aegean Army's willingness and capacity to embrace a multitude of factions is a smokescreen, as if the whole Army leans toward one faction or another. This is also blatantly untrue as anyone who has witnessed us battle against one another can attest.

Those who attempt such trickery are simply issuing propaganda in attempt to herd conflict away from themselves and toward another target, so they can continue to foolishly cannibalise Erisian beliefs, which brings me to my next point:

The conflict-at-hand is not Aegean against Darkness. It is city versus city. Hashan has simply made the mistake of entering conflict
on multiple fronts again, and so now they attempt to quell some of the tide of ire against them, insinuating that Aegean Eleusians should draw back from shrine defense because of something that none of us has the power to stop:

Oblivion's encroachment. Those learned among the Nihilists can educate people on the futility of that particular subject. It has nothing to do with the words I next write.

There is only one Seat of Chaos upon the Prime Material Plane. The Chaos Court's recent directive that the city-state of Ashtan bring ruin to the Sundered lands draws purposeful attention to this fact because the impertinence of the Court of Shadows has once again been noted by the great wheel's Imperator.

Only a few short decades ago, our Eldritch General warned that shadowed city that they walked the perilous path of presumptuousness. Yet Hashan's leaders have continued to act in insolence, insisting their citizens are owed more than has already been graciously given and ignoring the ban on the use of the Occult against the Seat. In permitting perpetrators of Discordian idiocy to spread nonsensical notions, their full arrogance and entitlement was laid bare before the Ascendant's throne.

Any proclamations of free agency in the pursuit of Chaotic studies are considered a denial of Ashtan's authority as the principality chosen to represent and further the Chaos Court's interests upon the Prime. Likewise, attempts to pervert the Court's intentions or to subvert the youth of Ashtan in abuse of the Court's generous gift of pacts will be met with swift retribution.

The Archonate of Ashtan shares this notice here for all the world to heed. All those who attempt to pervert these realities or stand against the great Wheel will be left trembling as our merciless manifestations of Chaos' jurisdiction pour forth in violent response.

Penned by my hand on the 9th of Phaestian, in the year 814 AF.
