The Glories of Seleucar Crafting Contest!

Hail and salutations, Sapience!

Seleucar's golden age was well known for its splendors, years of peace and good rule allowing for the arts of the realm to flourish into legend. While we may never see the Imperial City or the arts of that time in all their glory, the Modern Age has seen a similar boom in artistry, as all of our different cities and cultures have produced works and legends in their own right.

As we celebrate this eight hundredth anniversary since Seleucar's fall, it's only right that we celebrate just how far our realms have grown since that time, by honouring and displaying the artists of the modern age.

And so, as the Selucarian Games get underway, we are proud to announce the The Glories of Seleucar Crafting Contest, a design contest open to all.

The theme of the contest is simple, yet broad: Design something that espouses the legacy and history of the Selucarian Empire, or celebrating these modern Seleucarian Games!

*

Inspiration here should be easy enough to find in the histories of Seleucar, or, for those who want to make designs to celebrate these modern games, a reminder about our colours and arms!

The two colours of the Seleucarian games are Sanguine, representing the blood we've shed in sacrifice for our current war, and the battles we have yet to fight, with silver representing our purity of purpose, and of the light of the open sky. The sun is the overland, that once could destroy the Tsol'teth if they came unprotected, while the owl represents the wisdom needed to see through the promises of the Tsol'teth, and Lord Sarapis' original charge to stand against the Underrealm.

Submitted designs may be tailored pieces, jewelry, or furnishing pieces. All pieces submitted must in some way display elements of the established theme and must meet the design criteria of their respective tradecrafts (HELP TAILORING, HELP JEWELRY, HELP FURNISHING). Anyone may submit up to a maximum of three designs of any type. Designs are NOT limited by categories or type, you may submit three jewelry pieces, or two tailoring pieces and a jewelry piece if you wish!

*

And of course there will be prizes!

First, every design submitted will have a chance to win five credits, if it's a quality work that fits the theme! Any design submitted to the crafter's union in time to be available for the closing ceremony will also be put on display there, so that you can show off your work to the world!

And for the grand prize, the work judged to best represent what artistry the continent has to offer in the Modern Age, there will be an additional prize of fifty credits!

The window of submissions shall close on the 25th of Glacian (though there's some wiggle room here, if necessary). The grand prize winner and subsequent winners of spectacular submissions will be announced shortly after the closing of the design contest via a news post. (If you wish to be announced as "an anonymous artist" in the prize listings, please note that at the TOP of your submission!)

Designs should be mailed to Volunteer Synthus, who will collect the designs and pass them on to our judging team! A huge thanks to him for helping coordinate this event!

We look forward to seeing your creative and imaginative designs!

Ever Loyal,
Sentry Synthus
