ignorance

Seneschal,

Every word of what you have said in your retort serves to illustrate your ignorance towards your own citizens. For a Darkwalker and a city leader you are bafflingly misinformed.

Cyrenians? Did you think this was somehow relevant because that is where I happend to stand while you penned this? Whilst in Hashan I was close with exactly two Cyrenians, one of which now stands with the Court. So what exactly did you notice these past couple years?

Interest? What does interest matter when you hold your apparent knowledge of the Tsol'teth so close to your chest. If they are the allies you say they are, articulate how and why. I sought knowledge of the Tsol'teth the entire time I remained in the Court and yet I came to notice that every citizen I spoke to seemed to have the same information I did. Information which doesn’t explain your sudden devotion to your once-enemy. Can you really scream ignorance or prejudice when it comes to cards that you alone seem to hold?

You speak of my week will? You are the one who has abandoned the goal our city came to a consensus on: To learn their secrets and gain their offered power in order to fight back against them. Or was that just a lie you told the citizenry to placate them and obtain the result you truly desired? If I wanted to live in a city where democracy was a convenient illusion, I’d move to Cyrene.

Why Seneschal, have I been inundated with messages, tells and letters from our, no, your citizens voicing that I am not alone in my feelings? Saying that they wished I had stayed because they feel they have no voice? You and your precious few handle the Court with iron gloves. You've gripped them about the throat and now you walk towards a precipice. Here’s to hoping that you release your charges before you take your final step over the edge.

But my words don't matter to you, none seem to but your own or those that echo you. You will dismiss all I say with yet another public tantrum, screaming prejudice, shouting ignorance and crying foul to ears that listen for nothing but your secret justification for your newfound zealotry and devotion to your once sworn enemy, or, failing that, your bloody death throes.

Perhaps you owe Sapience nothing, Krizal. But you owe the Court better. My newfound enemy status which I can only assume is charged as “Disagreed with the Seneschal” is evidence enough of that.

Once more, disappointed,
-Gilliam Winters
