The Staff of Nicator

My city is in rubble and scarcely a tenth of the population remains. Bodies are still being recovered and buried, children still cry in the streets, and we all mourn. Your only comment on our loss is that war is an "effective, albeit inefficient means of progress."

Every other citizen on Sapience who allies with you should feel the weight of that destruction and death. We will not forget how quick some were to abandon Cyrene to occupation and slaughter for their own perceived safety or advancement.

Now you offer to host a contest as if you did not just kill thousands of innocents? As if you are not currently spreading poison across our continent? You bribe people to join with our ancient Staff of Nicator, just as you bribed Hashan and Targossas into compliance.

You have the utter gall to say that you will give our traditions "appropriate respect?" Rubbish.

Anyone foolish or shortsighted enough to participate in these so-called games deserves to pay the price, and do not doubt, there WILL be a price.
