Dear Radivnal,

a sadness about the loss of Shallam is one I understand, believe me. Tears in my eyes when I read your post. Some years ago, I returned to the realms as life-long citizen of Shallam - to the fact that home was gone. House and city. I was completely unprepared. Of course. How should we have been prepared, since no single citystate in the history of Achaea had ever found such fate, before? All the centuries of care, thoughts and work that divine and generations of mortals had put into this society swiped out in a huge bloodbath, and beloved Creators ceased to exist in huge pain.

However, the world has moved on since, in many ways. Targossas exists now and flourishes (the city being one of the most amazing creations I have ever seen, eventhough geographically very challenging for me)! Achaeans now have less Houses to chose from but masses of pets and professions, everyone cooks and sews and brews and bakes or collects whatever, whenever the raging fire of perma-fueled conflict allows for such (I am sure the artifact shops in Delos are doing just fine.) And Mathonwy, for instance, whom I remember all the way back from when he was a man growing fast within Shallam through sharp intellect and amazing dedication for Good and Order (in various City and Church jobs) eventually changed his belief and has now been living in Mhaldor for many years, where I am sure he still excels, just as he did in Shallam (and in whatever other city he maybe temporarily chose to live in and to fight for, I lost track, sorry).

Radivnal, I do not remember you from Shallam much, my apologies, so I have no idea how much talent and dedication lays behind your idea. Milabar, whom I had around me all my life, outlined some of the problems he saw right away within your very setup itself - and whereas I agree to his points, I don't think there is much need to be condescending. The tragedy was too big, people simply deal with pain in different ways. And people who were not dormant had decades to come up with ideas on how to continue to "hold up" the golden-blue flag of The Jewel Of The East, IF they had felt such need. People had decades to do it with a better setup than maybe Radivnal's (maybe some even tried, no idea), and if they did not, that was their choice. Which brings me to a sad point, Radivnal: Your journey might become a lonely one. People are busy. People have pets to attend to, people have pies to bake, others have other battles.

And we? WE definitly have wars to fight: against Evil, Chaos and Darkness.

That said, Radivnal - however your plans grow, in nourishing the aspects of Shallam you outlined in your post... by all means, oh paladin ... I doubt living in Hashan will be benefitial...

Sincerely yours,

Laras
