Archon Ascendant,
I will not bypass the falacy you mentioned in your post and ignore the Truth of
the situation within Targossas, which you claim is rampant amidst our leadership
and citizenry as a whole. Life in service to Them is not easy. We are beset on
all sides by a number of enemies, some true and some imaginary (Eleusis), the
beacons to the Bloodsworn are constantly under fire and those of the Caefir and
Aarashi face an endless uphill battle at keeping Their presence possible within
the realms. Our theology is at odds with the vast majority of the world, and our
citizens do not enjoy the freedom of Hashan or the illusion of weightless service
of Mhaldor.
There are a number of factors that lead to Targossians losing their way while
fighting for Good, and we recognize that, but we do not have the ability to sit
back and pretend this world, and all the worlds in existence, are not at stake if
we give this fight up. I won't debate the validity of the desire to reach this end
with you, as we both know our own stances, but you must also come to realize that
while there is weakness within the servants of the Bloodsworn there is also strength.
How else would such a small set of Isles dare take up arms against the might Ashtan?
In the end my words here will mean very little, as will yours, or Aodfionn's. Taking
this into account I will make my conclusion short. After all that Targossas has been
through, the sinking of Shallam, refugee status, endless and constant battling at our
own gates, abroad, or on different planets, shrines rising and falling, citizens
deciding that the life was too difficult and leaving their posts, and the turmoil of
these departures have caused as a whole and emotionally to our citizens, that we
tremble at the thought of Ashtan's might? We've seen your best and we've seen your
worst. We've been shaken to the core by the might of Ashtan, Mhaldor, hell even
Eleusis. Yet here we remain, our middle finger raised, firmly placing ourselves
directly in your path to Oblivion.
In summary, bring it.
In service to the Bloodsworn,
Micaelis al Nadir
