Announcing the Winners of the Prosperian Market Riddle Hunt organized and executed by the Serenade Masquerade
Five participants answered all of the riddles correctly. Their names were placed into a hat and drawn to assign prizes. They were:
5 CR Araenea
5 CR Vinny
5 CR Krypton
20 CR Isobellina
30 CR Neela
In all, more than 30 people came out to join the fun, and 15 returned completed entries. Many answers were clever and thought-provoking, and all were fun. Special mention to Bluef and Rhobin, for their thorough research, to Vivo for his clever - if not quite right - deductions, to Saurrocene for attempting to fit an entire book-lined nook into an envelope, to Dortheron for his philosophical reasoning, and to Soles, for bringing a caterer to the party.
The correct answers are as follows:
1. Neither gem nor metal but precious still, this adorns the handle of
Prospero's till.
== Pearl, which adorns the mahogany handle of Prospero's vault
2. In days of old the Lord of Gold overwatched a city fair, enjoying
this blizzard whipped and chilled in a room just north of the dragon's
lair
== Blizzard kawhe, found in the book-lined nook at the back of Blu's Den in Cyrene
3. Gold I am not, nor copper nor lead, still I am crowned atop of His
head.
== Silver, the not-gold metal in Prospero's circlet
4. Many dragons with huge hordes of wealth did once upon a time stalk
with stealth, upon their newly wetted feet through the cities' many
streets, hunting these creatures, full of fleas, non-the-less stones to
the life of ease.
== Rat, which formed the foundation of many an adventurer's hoard
5. This common symbol of Prospero's power helps make your path clear.
When faced with a choice between right and wrong, just flip one in the
air.
== A gold coin, of course
Many thanks to:
Aecius and Dena of the Prosperian Market in Hashan for providing the prizes and for being genuinely fun to work with. Patronize the market for excellent prices and unique wares
Carnivalis Institute of Jestering for matching the prizes and for their unwavering support and assistance
Zoldine, caterer extraordinaire for a last-minute catering job that will not be forgotten soon
Evey, for his assistance in planning and managing the Riddle Hunt from its inception
Merador and a Minister who shall remain nameless for their assistance in refining and correcting the riddles
The Serenade Masquerade looks forward to presenting many more amusements and events for the public and for private parties in the coming months. Thanks again to all who participated and enjoyed themselves.
Penned by my hand on the 6th of Glacian, in the year 681 AF.
