A few words.

Hail the coming Dawn, Sapients.

Some of you have likely come in to contact with those who have forsaken their oaths to the Bloodsworn - most notably among them are the bard Lauria and the monk Caoimhaen. As a pious servant of the Lightbringer, I believe that the Truth is absolutely essential for Growth to be made attainable. As such, I would like to indulge the truth of their departure.

Even in our dealings with the wicked, adherents of Good must always remember that our enemies have grown up in ignorance of what the Bloodsworn teach. As such, it is our duty to do our best to educate our fellow man and try to help them find strength and salvation through service to Them. This notion - the idea that ignorance, even willful ignorance, demands a measure of pity and sympathy - is an important distinction to make in our we deal with those who possess the temerity to defy Their rule.

This, however, leads to an odd question - how then, do we handle those who have served Them, who have seen Their vision, who have known Goodness, but chose to abandon Their city and break the sacred oaths they took. Are they innocent, going forward? Has their service, albeit riddled with questionable decisions, allowed them to walk kindly in the eyes of those who wield Their gifts?

The answer to this, is an unequivocal 'no.' Those mortals - like Melodie, like Caoimhaen, like Lauria - who allow their desire to engage in questionable acts with their 'friends' to betray the trust They had in them, are not worthy of Their blessings. They are not worthy of redemption until such time as they realize the error and gravity of their situations, and work to return to the fold.

Lauria - you are so incredibly talented, with the mind of a poet and the voice of a songbird. But you are a youngling still, and you allowed your wanderlust to consume you. The path home will be difficult, but hopefully soon you will realize that you will not find the inherent beauty of Creation by idling with those you once called enemies.

Caoimhaen - You and I shared many a cup of tea as citymates, and become incredibly close. Unfortunately, you never did learn that the emotions of the self are less important than the mission we must undertake. I Truly hope someday you can reconcile with the heretical acts you have performed, and perhaps seek redemption when you are at a more spiritual place in your life.

In the mean time - let each among you know that, effective immediately, all Devotionists are forbidden from rendering aid to these oathbreakers until such time as they prove themselves to have ceased their fascination with wasting the precious time of the faithful. Those who choose to continue aiding the heretics will be dealt with in accordance with Their law.

The Light and Fire lead - we shall never fail to follow.
