Shrines in Ashtan

I write this post in the hope that some of the neutral people in
this war will understand where the citizens of Ashtan are coming
from in regards to the recent combat.

While the war against the church is an ancient one, these are the
events as I see them that led up to this war. Feel free to correct
me if I am wrong, for I am in no way omnipresent.

A shrine was erected in Ashtan, 'Under Sanctuary Bridge'. I saw the
thing myself, and can stand witness to it's (short) existence. This
was by no means the first shrine built in Ashtan, but it was the straw
that broke the camel's back, so to speak.

Two other shrines were erected in Ashtan not too long after this ones
destruction. Within the walls of Ashtan, my friends, not just in Ashtan
surrounding areas as Isildur suggests. The war began shortly after, with
a declaration by Nimos, stating that the city of Ashtan was tired of these
weapons of war being placed in our land. Many deaths followed, for which
I am not the least bit sorry.

Several shrines were placed, at about this time, at Vellis and Nearing
Lake Vundamere. I witnessed several of these, but I was told there were
more in the same locations. I will point out, however, that were shrines
at Vellis long before this war started. However, with the hostilities,
these weapons of destruction could not be allowed so close to Ashtan.

Very recently, three shrines were placed in Ashtan. While I did not see
these myself, as Angelo defiled them with incredible quickness (cheers to
him), the Lord of Darkness himself, Twilight, warned of their existence.

Many a church member will tell you that these shrines are harmless, and
simple structures devoted to the worship of the gods. This could not be
further from the truth. Experience the agony of a Rite of Demons ripping
at your flesh and very soul, and the frustration of the church using
these monoliths to forced obedience as focal points for their skill of
Pilgrimage. Then you will know why these shrines are so hated, why they
cannot be allowed in or near Ashtan.

I should also point out that Ashtan offered very simple terms to end this
war not far into the hostilities. While a few church members wished to
accept these terms, their egotistical leaders forced their young forward,
as Isildur's recent post confirms.

Knowledge is power, understand the fight before you take sides.

Penned by my hand on the 14th of Lupar, in the year 218 AF.
