By definition, light is not only the first of divine creation, but also the herald of life. In the end, that which gives you and me and all of us mortals the gift of existence is light. Remove light, and life does not sustain--and there is nothing to witness the existence of darkness. Your humble mortal self can try all you wish, but there is always light in any depth of darkness, as long as life exists to watch and witness. Light is a subtle thing, and do not presume to know the secrets of its divine purpose.
