A civil response

Normally, I try to stay out of these public debates, as I choose to
debate philosophy and the like in private. It just seems more civil.
However, Noristae's post shows such a lack of understanding of Chaos and
Lord Babel's realm that I, as Lord Babel's Prophet, feel I have little
choice but to educate her and those that believe as she does.

First, Sister of Light, thank you for your kind words on Ashtan's
accomplishments. They are to be admired and every citizen of the Bastion
should be proud of what we have done together. You seem to think that we
should take little satisfaction in this because of the inevitable coming
of Oblivion. This only shows that you have bought into the lies and
propaganda of Shallam. Let me educate you. I am, after all, naught but a
humble scholar and teacher.

Oblivion is coming. That excites some and scares others. It is merely a
fact despite one's feelings on the matter. It is like worrying overlong
about whether or not fire is hot. It does no good. Still, why not revel
in our accomplishments? Even if we leave Lord Babel out of it, most
mortals agree that they are, well, mortal. Because life is finite does
this mean we shouldn't enjoy what we do while we are alive? Given your
logic, we should all sit around in despair because these mortal forms
will not last forever.

It is the height of hubris for one to think they can slow down or speed
up the coming of the Void. In the meantime, even my Master commands that
we live life to the fullest and do what makes us content. For some that
is battle, for other politics, for me it is a quiet life of study and
contemplation of the nature of Chaos. Make no mistake--Oblivion is
Chaos. Do I find my life meaningless? Not at all, friend. I find it more
glorious, more poetic and beautiful knowing that it will not last
forever.

Now I will get to what really compelled me to post publicly. You claim
that Occultists and Ashtan were better off under the lies and deceit of
Eris. Even as a young man (yes, I was once a young man) I could see
through her teachings. I try not to brag, but being one of the best
Chaotic minds of my generation, I searched for something with more
substance. I was but a lad when I first heard the sweet sound of Lord
Babel's voice, compelling me to search for Him. The rest, as they say,
is history.

We lost nothing of importance with the destruction of the rainbow-eyed
harlot's temple. The Law of Fives? Mumbo Jumbo. Why not the law of twos,
or threes, or the seven truths? None of it holds up to even an ounce of
scrutiny because there is only one law--all things fall to Oblivion.
Even the most devout in the Light agree that Entropy has found its way
into our world. It's like pouring milk into tea. Easy. Trying to unmix
the two, however, proves futile. The milk, to simplify things for you,
is still pouring.

Finally, let me set your mind at ease a bit. Oblivion is not what you
think it is. It is the true path to freedom in this life, and it is the
highest form of freedom in the next. All things will be as one, and all
will have full understanding of the mysteries of Chaos when Creation
falls. We will also fully understand Creation as the fleeting, yet
beautiful, thing it is. You cling to Creation like a babe to a blanket
or like a very old man holds dearly onto life. Yet like the babe and
like the old man, you have nothing to fear. You and I, maggots and men,
and even the Gods will be as one in the Void. There will be no need to
worry about Chaos because you will be Chaos. Pure, primal, beautiful,
Chaos.
