Progress

Cyrene,
I shall keep this brief, as long-winded documents assuredly can already
be found a plenty within your walls.
In the passed years you have felt the ire of Lord Babel's spear. Your
cities have ran red with the blood of innocents; have been paved with
the corpses of loyal, upstanding citizens, all to satisfy such an
ephemral delusion such as pride. Your Imperiate had the option at the
First moments to end this, but it seems that Cyrene places lesser value
than the East on trivialities such as the preservation of
life--something for which I commend you.
It was with mingled feelings of amusement, slight discontent, and
satisfaction when some days ago I received a missive from the Imperiate
containing the ashes of the object the Spear sort to acquire; a bold
statement, certainly. Yet I pose the question, Cyrene.
Was walking down the path of destruction truly the wisest way to try to
prove something to the Cult of Lord Babel?
If nothing else, it heartens me greatly to know that unlike your eastern
counterparts, you are able to learn and adapt to the few certainties in
this existence, even if you at presently only do so grudgingly.
It is rare to find a state that can take such valuable lessons from the
Spear, willingly or otherwise. I look forward to observing your progress
in the days to come.
In His Service,
Tanris Rozzan
Keeper of the Flame-Bright Spear
Penned by my hand on the 16th of Ero, in the year 592 AF.
