Greets, Sapience!

I am officially opening our first, worldwide Rock Paper Scissors
tournament, hosted by the Carnivalis Institute of Jestering!

Some of you may have noticed a new spot in Delos, West of Overlooking
The Zaphar River. For those of you who have yet to find it, go take a
look. You may be wondering why you should care. The
answer is simple: The grand prize! 250,000 shiny gold sovereigns. Why
are we doing this? For fun and smiles, of course! And entry is free! How
could you go wrong?

As for the boring part everyone dislikes, the rules!

For the match to be official:

o it must be conducted within the Tent, West of Overlooking the Zaphar
in Delos. Directions from On the Delosian Bridge are Southeast, East,
East, East, East, East, Northeast, West.

o it must be overseen by an official judge. Those are currently: Shihai,
Harley, Tsair, Tamina, Flec, Alasheera, Avalin, Blackharp, Pyke, and
Calithandir. More may be added in an addendum post
later.

o You and your opponent must have not lost a match.

Anyone may challenge anyone else at any time, as long as the above
requirements are met. Simply have you and your opponent meet inside the
tent and send a tell to one of the judges mentioned above
to oversee it.

It will be a best two out of three match, with all ties ending in a
sudden death (which simply means the first to win, wins the match).

If you win, congrats! Your score will be updated by one on the board
just east of the Tent.
If you lose, you are unable to continue challenging or to be challenged.
However, you do retain your score. What this means is it is possible to
lose but still be in the finals, assuming your score
was high enough!

The main part of the tournament will run for one year from the date of
this post. After that, participation will be closed and we shall tally
the top 16 scores. Those with the highest scores will
be entered into the finals. It will be run in a bracket format, with the
winner taking home the grand prize of 250,000 gold!

One more thing. No one who is a member of the CIJ is allowed to
challenge others or win the prize. This is to keep everything fair. That
being said, anyone may challenge any Judge or those who
shows in HELP HOUSE CIJ at any time. If you lose to them, the same rules
apply as losing to anyone else. However, if you win, you are entered
into a secondary final round. Once the finals are over,
anyone who was able to get a win into this secondary final round will
play for another 100,000 gold! That's the possibility to win 350,000
gold total!

If there are any questions, feel free to contact a Judge. Also, check
out HELP RPS to see all about Rock Paper Scissors!

Get playing, it starts now!

Penned by my hand on the 11th of Daedalan, in the year 587 AF.
