Shallam has its own children, they are not given candy to entice them, they are not manipulated into thinking they go to a better place. The Choir gives them somewhere to go during the day to keep them from trouble and to sing the Praises. They are offered a chance, and as Shallam children are aware of things clearly, they take it.
