Stationary versus Stationery

Written by: Provost Madelyne Jinx-Ech'lir, Senator

Oh, honestly. Research? Obviously not quite enough by authors of the
recent news posts, else this wouldn't be grating my nerves. Please, for
the love of librarians and those who proofread manuscripts everywhere,
use homophones correctly.

stationery (noun)
1. writing parchment
2. writing materials, quills, letters, and envelopes.

stationary(adjective)
1. standing still; not moving.
2. having a fixed position; not movable.

For example, if the stationery was truly stationary then this subject
would never have hit the news in the first place. Whether you care about
anything else, lack of attention to detail to written work is both
careless and reflects poorly on the author.

In appreciation for the written word,
Madelyne

Penned by my hand on the 25th of Ero, in the year 559 AF.
