The Past and Present

Hashan, city of my birth, I fought long and hard for you for many years,
served with all I had. Until now I have remained silent on what I told
you before I left, what I continued to say but no one would listen, and
what others ended up finally getting through to me. Hashan made its own
decisions, the city could have given up Chaos and Necromancy, and
regained the privelage of having it's citizens given the gift of
Devotion, but the city chose not to take this route. When I said, in my
last few years in Hashan, that the city was being taken over by
Darkness, I was told I was wrong, that I didn't know what I was talking
about. Well, what is there to say now? I saw the signs and tried to
convince others to attempt to turn it around, to make a change.

Now, Hashan has once again accepted Darkness as its driving force and is
enveloped in the lies of the Lord of Darkness and his followers yet
again. So, I shall say this to those who still want to come to the
Light, it can be done, the citizens of Shallam and the Members of the
Church are able and willing to help with this. All you have to do is ask
for that assistance.

To those in Hashan who are set on their path, to serving darkness, and
particularly you, Seneschal Ruth, my old ally, I ask this. What help
does Hashan give Shallam? All the people that were citizens of Hashan
that helped Shallam, have come to us to embrace the Light. Citizens of
Mhaldor and Ashtan attack your citizens in the city, and yet still you
aide them.

I give this last plea, from the fount of memories I have from Hashan,
both good and bad, please, renounce Darkness, embrace the Light and save
yourselves, before it is too late.

Penned by my hand on the 6th of Glacian, in the year 556 AF.
