Greetings and good tidings industrious crafters of Sapience!
I come to you all this day to announce the beginning of the third round
of the Master Crafter Awards held by the Order of Lord Phaestus!
For those of you who are familiar with this program from previous years
then the format will be the same as it was before and feel free to skip
to the bottom of this posting. However, if your memory is hazed with
time or if you have not been through a Master Crafter Awards before
please read on for more information.
------ History of the Master Crafter Awards ------
The Master Crafter Awards program was instituted to give worldwide
recognition to those in lands who have achieved mastery of their craft.
Held only every few decades it remains a prestigious award and a high
honour.
Begun from the teachings of our Lord Phaestus of Industry, Passion, and
Skill in and for one's craft we devote our time and resources to the
furthering of those who embody these traits in their work.
A candidate for Master Crafter is nominated by the populace at large.
Following the nominations the Chosen consider the candidates, their
work, and the nominations from the populous for them weighing their
qualifications against previous Master Crafters and the Chosen's
extensive knowledge of quality.
To be considered a Master Crafter, one must be known for the quality of
their works and for actually caring to ensure that which they produce
has a purpose in this world. We are not talking about the person hastily
selling iron circlets they crafted within a minutes time, nor the
individual who randomly tailors sets of clothing but does not produce
nor offer his/her expertise to consumers or at least to be used.
There are two tiers of Awards in the program. That of a silver medallion
and a gold.
The silver recognizes the master crafter who is has just obtained
mastery, who is known but not completely recognized. The crafter who has
found the spark brilliance but not yet total control and promotion of
their crafts.
The gold is only granted to the greatest Masters of the crafts. Those
whose name rolls off of the tongues of most people when you ask who is
good at a certain craft. They spend their lives dedicated to their work
and strive to ensure that the world is made better by what they do.
Generally they are great promoters of their brand and always interested
in improving both their craft and their marketing.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
To date the Master Crafter Awards have given silver medals to the
following individuals: Tekla for tailoring, Elstan for forging and
Liliana for Tailoring. As well as gold medals to the following
individuals: Trey for forging, Katia for tailoring, Logistics for
forging, Anarwaen for tailoring and Lavinia for tailoring and jewelry.
As winners of previous cycles these people can no longer be nominated
for award.
If you do not see the names of your favorite crafter listed above then
please nominate them to the Order of Lord Phaestus for world-wide
recognition. The Order will honour crafters from almost all walks of
life and all professions which hold the industrious and creative spark.
To nominate a crafter send a message to Lavinia with the name of the
crafter, what form of craft you are nominating them for (forging,
tailoring or jewelry) , and any other information you feel the Order
should know about the skill and scope of this person's work.
This is one of the highest honours which the Order of Lord Phaestus can
bestow upon non-Order members or Order Members. We will be accepting
nominations for the following five years ending in the year 560AF.
Should you have any other questions with regards to the MCA please
contact Lavinia, myself, or another Chosen.
We look forward to seeing who the nominees are this round of the Master
Crafter Awards!
