To one of my many mistakes,

I've supported you much too long. I listened to you complain about your
useless Goddess. I listened to you complain about Shallam being worse
than Hashan. I protected you from the worse of the retribution your
actions deserved. I shielded you from many dangers of life. I threw
aside my differences with Cooper and humbled myself to the pathetic
leaders of your Jewel in order to attend your Knighting. I supported you
throughout your life, and you were never once grateful for any of it.

You chose to push your duties to the causes of your countless complaints
over those who stood by you and taught you for your entire life. You
chose not to use a family name because I joined those who were pummeling
your home, the home you only re-joined because of the Effigy they needed
half the world to win. You made this decision long ago, Eschilde, and I
pretended you hadn't.

No longer will I look away when you make mistakes. No longer will I hold
back my worst from reaching you or yours. No longer will I restrain
myself for your well-being. I have done what I have been doing with the
concern of your well-being in mind -- you've hardly seen what I can do.
What you've seen and experienced was the most gentle offense I've ever
raised -- and that alone has brought you to tears. Worse is yet to come,
child.

I hope you enjoy being a Paladin as much as you claim, for I will rip
the spirit of the Dragon from your body before I am finished with you.
Pray your Jewel protects you, for that will be your only salvation. You
will memorize the halls of Maya, Eschilde. Earning my forgiveness will
be a thousand times more difficult than attaining Dragon proved for you.
This I promise.
