Festivities

Sir Si'Talvace,

Hold your dubious festival behind city walls; thinking men and women
will not permit the Holy Church or its internecine rivals to insinuate
Eastern heresies in our communities under the guise of some sad
celebration. We are wise to the hypocrisies and naked grabs at power
that hide behind such sanctimony. Too many have fought and too many have
died to stand idle as your self-styled "missionaries" take to corrupting
the young or simple-minded. We have not forgotten.

I yet recall our many fruitful discussions at the Crossroads. Even then,
your public martyrdom and self-righteousness doubtlessly marked you the
ideal voice for a dwindling troupe of morality police. Tell me, do your
churchmen yet ally themselves with those bestial Ithmian cannibals? Have
not Cyrene and Eleusis both turned a permissive eye towards the
profitable murder of women and children? What is it, precisely, that
gives your tiresome people such cause to celebrate?

Inquiringly,

Father Coldraven
