A grand soiree

Greetings friends of learning!

For over a century, the Lucretian Athenaeum has stood as a beacon of
learning, a repository of wisdom open to all who are willing to walk
through its doors in a spirit of scholarship and peace. As Head
Archivist it is my solemn responsibility to ensure that the Athenaeum
retains its pre-eminent position and in the pursuit of that lofty goal,
it gives me great pleasure to announce our very first fund-raising
soiree! This fabulous night will start on about the 2 Glacian 539AF in
the Athenaeum itself.

Invitations are, as I write, winging their way to the elite of Achaean
society: kings and overseers, caliphs and viceroys, all are welcome!
However, those who do not receive an invitation by virtue of their
exalted position need not despair! Tickets to the social event of the
decade are available for the bargain price of 100,000 gold! Simply send
a letter direct to me via the messenger in Delos with your payment and
you shall receive your invitation by return. Admittance will only be
given to the writer of the letter (and a companion of their choice), so
please do not purchase invitations to your friends, family and lovers!
Our door staff will regrettably have to turn them away.

For those who do purchase a ticket, we promise an unforgettable night of
entertainment where gastronomic treats and heady wines will flow like
the Urubamba!

One final word, please do attend in formal evening wear, our staff have
strict instructions to maintain the highest standards and the unsuitably
dressed, even those with tickets, will be turned away.

Yours,
Nissa, Head Archivist of the Lucretian Athenaeum.

Penned by My hand on the 12th of Chronos, in the year 538 AF.
