Congratulations and Corrections

Good day, Ranger Grandue and the village of Eleusis.

First of all, congratulations on amassing the military force needed
to bring about the destruction of both the Circle of Swords and the
Fist of Oppression. Obviously, the village of Eleusis has risen to the
challenge posed by our forces and met it. I pray to the Lords
Apollyon and Shaitan that your ascent to ever greater levels of
strength and power will not be stymied lest you fall back into the
habits of wringing your collective hands and calling for herb bans.
Your increasing military strength as you continue to drive yourselves
forward is refreshing, to say the least.

However, I feel that it is my solemn duty to point out several
rather glaring errors and misconceptions in your article celebrating
the destruction of the Mhaldorian Icons.

Why in the name of Seven Truths - and other tenets that we hold so
dear - would we pray that the village of Eleusis and the Sentinels of
Nature forget the fact that we struck at the Stag Crown on more than one
occasion? You may have forgotten some of the Seven Truths of Evil. Here,
allow me to refresh your memory:

"The spirit may be made stronger by enduring hardships, both
self-imposed and externally-imposed." - Truth Seven

"Cruelty - the application of pain - is the method by which one weeds
out the weak and feeble-minded from the population." - Truth Two

The Truths do not apply only to those who would oppose Evil or work
against Mhaldor's goals -- they also apply to the ones carrying out the
will of the Lords of Evil, as well. What we do is what we feel is best
for the advancement of sentient life. Should we grow too complacent,
infirm, or otherwise unworthy to carry forward the Seven Truths, then we
would invite others to strike against us, to smelt and reforge the whip
and blade that seeks to drive the people and creatures of Sapience
forward.

Our city-state's guards have fallen before as have our shrines to
the Lords of Evil. We have had such hardships thrust upon us in the
past. We weathered such suffering then and will continue to do so now.
We do not wish for you to rest and stagnate. Continue to drive
yourselves forward, continue to clash against the whip and blade that
seeks to bestow suffering and oppression upon all that stand against
it. Do you wish to stop the extermination of natural areas? Remove the
blessed shrine that stands on the island of Shala-Khulia? Fan away the
red fog that covers the island upon which Mhaldor rests? Then continue
to grow in strength and push against us. If you wish to resolve the
aforementioned situations to your factions satisfaction, you will have
to take it, not barter for it.
