Qasharim Stance on Eleusis

Written by: Ovid
Date: Sunday, November 29th, 2009
Addressed to: Ithmian Knight, Sir Rangor Corten, Heart of the Forest

Until further notice, no member of the Qashar shall lift a finger in
defense of Eleusis.

In the past, the Qashar offered their assistance in all manner of
threatening situations. We have aided in disassembling countless raids,
be it through force or leadership. While we have provided some measure
of peace within the village, we did not do so single-handedly. We
accomplished this together with Eleusis, Shallam and Cyrene, working
together towards the realization of what I assumed to be common goals.

It pains me to say that this relationship exists no longer.

To my surprise, several months ago, I was alerted to a ruling made by
Rangor, of the Sentinel House stating that members of the Sentinels were
forbidden from assisting the Qasharim. Naturally, I sought to clarify
the position with Rangor who confirmed that they were, indeed, willing
-- even encouraged -- to accept our assistance when they needed it,
however, they were forbidden from providing us assistance should we need
it.

In an attempt to rectify this situation before it further divided our
forces, I spoke with the Speaker of Eleusis, Ravien, seeking to repair
the little damage that had been done before the embarrassing wound
ruptured and became visible to all. While I have not yet heard from
Ravien, I shall continue my efforts on that front to mend this wound,
however, I cannot sit by idly while any soldier under my command is
willingly neglected at the hands of those they were sworn to protect.

I apologise that this measure has become necessary and hope, in the
future that the Qashar will return to Eleusis and, once again, defend
her soil from the threats of Evil and Chaos; however, at this time, the
Qashar are not interested in pursuing one-sided relationships nor
relationships that serve only to further divide our already fractured
forces.

In the mean time, the Qashar shall adopt a stance of friendly neutrality
with the village of Eleusis. Our members will be discouraged from
harming Nature, of course, but no more can we risk our lives to protect
the lives of those unwilling to risk their own in our defense.

Penned by my hand on the 4th of Chronos, in the year 524 AF.
