Scarlattan Theatre Policy

Attention-
In an effort to better serve the artists and theatre patrons of
Sapience, the management of the Scarlattan Theatre will be implementing
policy changes with respect to directorships. Effective immediately, any
director wishing to present a production at the theatre will be required
to submit a written request to the theatre manager (Sancero). This
request must contain (minimally):
- Applicant's name
- Organizational affiliation (if production is being staged or sponsored
by an organization such as a House or city)
- Title of the production
- Format of the production (theatrical, concert, etc.)
- Anticipated size of cast and crew
- Anticipated timeframe of event (including in-theatre rehearsal and
pre-production)
If the proposal is approved, the applicant will then submit a completed
script, score, or setlist (as appropriate). The script must contain a
list of intended props, backdrops, and costumes, but complete
descriptions of these items need not be completed beforehand. Once all
materials are received and the proposed timeframe is deemed reasonable,
the applicant will be granted directorship of the Scarlattan Theatre. As
always, the management will assist and clarify any complications with
the facilities.
The purpose of this policy is to ensure that potential directors are
better prepared to present full scale productions in the Scarlattan
Theatre. Because most of the planning is completed up front, directors
will be able to focus primarily on organizing rehearsals and promoting
the production. We hope this will in turn allow for more regular full
scale productions at the theatre.
Those who have currently expressed interest to Spalding in using the
Theatre are advised to withdraw their requests and follow the procedures
above.
