Misconceptions from malcontents

Gorlasintan,

After my previous public post, Gorlasintan, you had the option to retire
in dignified silence having fallen considerably in the esteem of your
peers for your childish and entirely flawed display of bravado.
Alternatively, you could have continued spouting what surely amounts to
verbal drool causing you to endure ridicule and shame for your inability
to comprehend even the simplest of situations.

It is to my disappointment but incalculable mirth that you have chosen
the latter.

For those of you interested in historical accuracy, the presence of
Manifest at these raids have been both incidental and temporary. It may
interest our enemies to know that we are not simply going to throw our
hands up in despair and say, "Oh no! An enemy has arrived, we had better
stop attacking now!" and troll off to discuss crochet.

Devotion users will exercise discretion and act in the interest of the
Light or they hall face the consequences.

It is of perpetual amusement to me that Gorlasintan and other
malcontents of equal or lesser stature are so concerned about the
well-being of the Church and its interests. Please don't be.

When your head found itself with a considerable increase in indentations
courtesy of Ovid's mace, (a significant aaesthetic improvement, mind)
you and your sorry band of windbags were the first to come to my
doorstep, begging me to excommunicate Ovid because he's sooo mean!
"Palanor!" you effectively cried, "Please excommunicate Ovid because we
can't deal with him ourselves!" Did he steal your lunch, too? Did he
call you fat and tell your friends you were a loser?

Your inability to grapple with the simple principal of how
excommunication works astounds me.

Now it seems that because your forces have been repelled from Eleusis
you would like me to excommunicate the defenders so it doesn't happen
again. Perhaps you should win the fight the first time around rather
than come with teary eyes and beating tiny fists afterwards?

I am not going to excommunicate people who are mean to you, Gorlasintan.
This is part of growing up, you have to learn to deal with it. I have no
confidence that you will, sadly, but at least now you won't get your
hopes up.

Where is Mhaldor's supposed strength (the question is purely rhetorical,
I don't wish to send anyone on a fruitless quest)? Why is it that rather
than flexing your phantom power you come running in tears asking that
people be excommunicated?

Your Twin Lords would surely be ashamed of you for not taking matters
into your own, incompetent hands.

Please spare us all the effort of thinking less of you should you decide
to attempt a reply. No one enjoys reading boring news posts. If you have
further concerns you may write to me using our first class mail system
and I will ignore your letters in the order in which they are received.

I am yours etc,

Father Palanor Weltsdown
Archprelate of the Holy Church

Penned by my hand on the 2nd of Ero, in the year 517 AF.
