If you are a citizen of Shallam, Eleusis, Cyrene, or a cityless ally of
Shallam, I would like to invite you to Shallam's chess tournament. No
matter your skill level, you should join and meet up with old allies and
new friends with a friendly game of chess. Over 125k gold is to be
spread out among the top finishers!

So everyone can meet some new people and play at least a few games, this
is how it is going to work. This tournament will have two parts. The
first part is a round based system, with the number of rounds based on
the number of people in the tournament. One's first opponent will be
random, and after that games are determined by the amount of points one
has. A win is worth one point, a draw is a half point, and a loss is no
points. For each round, you have two months to find your opponent and
play, and there will be a month in between each round. After all rounds
are played, the second part starts with top scorers participating in a
regular elimination based tournament.
