At Long Last!

Tyrannus,
It is good to see you vocally endorsing a policy that Mhaldor has
silently lived by for years. Ones words and their actions should always
be in unison. Attempting to deceive an audience as attentive as the eyes
of Sapience often results in deceiving only yourselves.
The tormented screams of the innocent echo throughout the streets of
Mhaldor. You bleed your own citizens. Upon crosses you hang Mhuns,
driving stakes through their extremities as the weight of their
innocence draws them to the earth.
You hunt, torture and abuse the weak not out of lust for power but as a
show of what little power you do hold. Children and small game tremble
and faint at the sound of Mhaldor's army approaching, so great is the
fear you inspire. You kill for entertainment. So you will forgive me if
I assume that you are a people of simple tastes.
I am a man of simple tastes myself. The crackling of bone. The rustling,
straw-like crunch of hair beneath boot. These things please me. I forego
subleties, Kaevan. I choose the mace as my weapon because there is no
more barbaric instrument save the man wielding it.
You will understand that I welcome this "change" in your policy. Alas,
the long suffering Mhaldor will bring her Vengeance home to roost!
Finally an adversary worthy of being called as much. At long last,
Kaevan, perhaps there will be some true tyranny to oppose!
It is all very exciting, this unforeseen plot twist.
You see, long ago I realized that there are two roles in this play:
There are those who will bravely defend the fields of Creation serving
them as Her champions and there are those who will die upon them as
cowards and serve Her fields as mulch.
Lets play our parts, then. Let us don our costumes, rehearse our lines.
Mhaldor is well-practiced in the role of victim, Kaevan, and I suspect
the audience shall accept nothing less than a masterpiece.
Eagerly awaiting,
Ovid
