Ragnorak's Fate

Ragnorak, my memory about the event of which Charnley speaks is that I granted you my presence to discuss a point about Gaia, even though I had many other projects and tasks at that time. When one of these projects needed my attention and since Sarapis did not feel your request for an audience warranted attention, I left to take care of other matters. To suggest that I "ran away" from you is so absurd and insulting that you are lucky I have not left you a permanent smudge upon the Preletorian Highway.

Let me be blunt, mortals. I am the Goddess of Chaos. Sometimes I find your petty squabbles and indignant posturings amusing, but for the most part I do not notice you. If you do manage to gain my attention, think about whose attention you have. Will you treat me as though I am a common scullery maid? Will you challenge me to paltry parlor games? Would you suggest, whether overtly or subtly, that you have bested me or somehow imply that you are better than me? When you get my attention, be reminded of the following:

I am petty and proud and boastful and rude - do not think I am above it all.

I am enlightened and transcendent and beyond comprehension - do not think I am below any possibility.

I am Ruler of the Realm of Destruction and Discord, Keeper of the Flames of Freedom and Evolution, Despoiler and Trickster, Savior and Seer, Beyond and Below, Savage and Scholar and Bureaucrat.

I am Eris, Goddess of Chaos. Remember this the next time my attention turns to you.

Penned by my hand on the 14th of Sarapin, in the year 216 AF.
