Yes, yes. Another election and another lovely political post about why I
am running for the position of Guildmistress. Well not another as in the
sense I am running again but yeah.

For a little while now a lot of the guild has been unhappy, they have
felt that the guild has no direction and we have become stagnant. We get
to a certain stage and then nothing.

When I first had the idea to contest I did not have any personal
problems with the leadership however I was finding it immensely
frustrating that whenever I did try to talk with Maelin that she often
took a long time to reply if she did at all. And I know many, many
others have had the same problem and frustrations.

The other two problems I have seen though, one is mainly to do with
myself and the other to do with the guild as a whole. The first was my
removal of my secretarial position. Now I believe I was a good
secretary, I was online often and was often found running around after
lost novices and probates, most of the other secretaries came to me for
advice or if they had problems. Maelin told me my dismissal was because
of frequent OOC behavior, which she also partook in and also because of
my recent going-on's within Kinsarmar. I felt however this was untrue
since both things had been going on for sometime and it wasn't until I
made a comment about Maelin's fianc, Luthyr that I was removed. I found
this extremely unprofessional and an abuse of power. My personal
relationship with Luthyr nor Maelin should not and did not have any
affect on my role in the guild in my own mind. But unfortunately it
would seem Maelin's personal feelings did get in the way.

The second problem I see recently is the sudden decision to allow
citizenship to Khandava, now I have no problem whatsoever with the
decision itself. I just question how it was done and why. Not that long
ago we held a vote and it was decided to not allow the move. However as
soon as Maelin wished to make the move for her personal reasons, without
any vote at all we're suddenly allowed to do it? Now I may be biased as
a representative of Kinsarmar as well as a Mage but what has Kinsarmar
ever done to us except be loyal? The government is yes having a few
problems at the moment but that has nothing to do with the guild. We
were founded in Kinsarmar and have prospered there and we have never had
any problems directly between the guild and the city, perhaps only
individuals.

The main reason I am choosing to contest however is not because of these
few issues but because I feel like I can put some new life into the
guild. I would like to take us in a new direction, try out some new
ideas and goals.

Some of the things I believe need more work on include:

- The novice aide system (which Peora is currently working on)
- The apprentice system (we had a good start to this, however it seems
to have stop dead in it's tracks)
- The GHELP files (More directions, a tattoo file? Improvements and
updates on the current files)
- A different approach to the Guild clan
- Our Guildhall (maybe getting more items for our library)
- Also things like teaching the basics of how we use our skills to
protect ourselves, our history and so on. Not just stuff within our
circles.

Anyway just a few things to think about. I realize that there is only a
few who can vote but I ask those who can to make sure your vote counts.
Please remember this isn't a popularity contest, it's not about friends
or family or whom you know. It's about the guild and what is best for
it. Remember it's your guild - think about it!
