Hostilities.

Addressed to: The Council of Oakstone
To the Hierophants of the Council of Oakstone and their allies in
Eleusis, Cyrene, and parts elsewhere:
Though ye claim to harbour for balance the highest reverence, to act
only as the workings of Nature dictate, your recent actions indicate
plainly that what truly motivates you matches not with these lofty
ideals. Your aggression against the people of Shala-Khulia is
unreasonable, representing little more than an opposition to sentient
advancement of any kind and a pathetic need to exert your sovereign
powers upon a foreign state.
These actions normally would warrant no special attention: despite years
of unreasoning and unrestrained aggression against its people, Mhaldor
cares little for the meaningless edicts of you and your tree-dwelling
friends. Ye have hitherto been as gnats upon the brow of a giant,
irksome and harmless. In this instance, however, we of the Lords' City
cannot stand idle.
The natives of Shala-Khulia, as proponents of progress and mortal
achievement, are considered by the City of Mhaldor full allies, and are
granted all protections which come with this status. Any campaign as ye
have previously undertaken against them will be seen as nothing less
than an act of war.
Long have we suffered your grudges petty and ancient. Our patience has
at last run out.

Tyrannus of Mhaldor
Penned by my hand on the 15th of Ero, in the year 490 AF.
