Adalie:
You and I were very good friends. I remember, when I first joined the
Church, how much you helped me. You have always been a helpful, healing,
and passionate woman. This, of course, is your clear affinity with the
Lady Sol. Your brightness shined as a great example to me; you were one
of my first Church friends, and you truly shepherded me to the Light. I
remember us both being sylvans in our groves. You helped me get
acquainted with my skills and taught how things might be different for
me in the Church.
Even when you left, I supported you as a friend. We all have to discover
our own path to the ultimate goal of Good. The Codex of Light mentions
that there is no one way to serve Good, and that no one by any means has
the Best Way. People serve Good outside the Church successfully; we
mortals are granted the gift Sentient Intellect and choice by the
Divine. To say that you were taught the world is your enemy and that the
Church is the only people working to further Creation is a despicable
lie. Unfortunately, it is not entirely surprising. Joining the quagmire
of Hashan and surrounding yourself with Darkness has one result:
derision, falsehood, and confusion. You are an unfortunate example to
what can happen to those who loose the path.
In the Church and the Empyreal Assembly, I do not know whether you were
truly underappreciated or not. To be honest, doesnt matter; we loved
you, and we worked together for a cause greater than us. Your service
was stellar, and so many of us looked up to you as a leader. You had
such a chance at becoming an amazing Matriarch and Mayan Prelate.
Serving Good, you are -not- guaranteed any thanks, and you know this. It
is not just hard work, its a hard lifestyle. You do not choose to serve
yourself like Mhaldor and Darkness teaches, you do not serve for
gratitude and thanks. Good gives the most unique (and shocking to some)
perspective - life and Creation is not all about you. Its about everyone
bigger than you - serving a higher purpose greater than yourself. Its a
thankless job; you, I, and everyone serving Good knows this. If you
couldnt handle it, its perfectly understandable why you left. Not
everyone can handle it. However, do not whine and use it as an excuse
for your misguided actions.
Good is not simply taught from outdated scrolls. Good is an immutable
force that affects all lives; Light is its illuminator and beacon. From
the Darkness of a quagmire have you haughtily renounced the teachings
that have blessed your entire life. Your audacity is reminiscent of the
passionate fire by which you served Good; I dream of the day when we can
sing once more. But, until then, I ask and advise that you do not do
anything that might make your treason worse than it already is.
As we sing a cappella, may the Light keep us on Pitch!
