Hail Sapience,

As most of you will know, the land resounded last month to the fall of
yet another Shallamese Icon, as the Amber Chalice of the Empyreal House
was splintered into dust by the will of the Twin Lords.

However, I do not come to you today to mark that victory, nor to note
the continued pre-eminence of Mhaldorian military might, but instead,
with words of caution.

It may come to pass that those of you in Houses which still boast an
Icon, may find a Shallamite attempting to persuade you to summon
alchemists for the purpose of futilely assaulting a Mhaldorian Icon.

Be warned: if any individual House member allows his House's Icon to be
used for these purposes, Mhaldorian retribution on that House will be
swift and sure. Any such use of House alchemists will result in the loss
of that House's Icon, as surely as night follows day.
