Friendship is a treasure never to be squandered and never to be ignored.
A friendship is a lifetime of good and bad times and memories. A
friendship is a lifetime of faith, perseverance and compassion despite
the ups and downs life throw at friends.
Friends are there for each other no matter through thick and thin,
through the ups and downs of life. Friends don't hold grudges against
each other. Friends forgive each other because they care about each
other.
Friends listen without judgement to everything they hear and hold their
opinions unless they're asked for. No matter what life throws at them,
friends stand up for each other and be there for each other through
thick and thin.
Sometimes people don't realize what they gain in friendship, sometimes
people don't realize what they take for granted in friendship.
I had a friend whom I cared quite deeply for over the years. There were
ups and downs in our friendship, words were spoken, feelings were hurt,
and sometimes forgiveness heals both sides. But the friendship we had
endured all the hardships life threw at us. We eventually chose
different paths. But the nature of our friendship remained steadfast
when we both spoke of our lives, friends and professions.
He told me his secrets nobody knew of, he told me his dreams he wanted
to live, he told me many things he would never tell his wife, his
children, his housemates and his citymates. I've had my share of words
with him, and in the end, our friendship was strained because of the
callous nature in him and the things he've said and done to me and
probably other people he knew at one point or another in his life. Why
would he want to confide in me everything he didn't want his wife,
children, city and house mates to know about? Because he knew I would be
there for him, he knew he had an ear to talk to and had a shoulder to
cry on, and that his wife wasn't there most of the time when he needed
company, and only until she availed herself to him.
Our friendship.. I will cherish for a long time. Forgiveness won't be
easy. Pain won't fade, nor will memories. The secrets and dreams he told
me will remain with me a long time.
Look at your friends and let them know they're your valuable friends,
let them know you care. Whether they're your partners, spouses,
siblings, parents, friends, housemates, citymates or even ordermates.
Tell them you care...
I hope you hear me.. I care and will always care about you as more than
a friend....
