The tip of the iceberg

Hello again Sapience:
I feel it's been a while since we saw some Good ideas around here, and,
amidst all this dismal turmoil, I think it is prudent to shed some Light
onto a few subjects. Keep in mind, though it's been falsely said, I
neither speak for the Church nor its opinions. These are my opinions,
inspired by the Codex of Light.
For one, fear is only the tip of the iceberg! Mardosi is very right in
that fear is an emotion that individuals use to manipulate Truth and
control others. However, fear isn't the enemy. Darkness, which uses
applied fear, most certainly is. It manipulates Truth, spreads fear, and
causes inaction. It turns innocents, who might be willing to help, into
haphazard, confused kittens. This way, a high amount of people are,
quite easily, shoved out of the way so that Darkness' agenda can be
fulfilled.
As far as Oblivion being inevitable: baloney. If Oblivion -was-
inevitable, Flair and his revolutionaries would be sipping tea right
now, waiting for the end. But, instead, they are working (quite
thoroughly) to gain strength for Babel, so that He might be powerful
enough to bring Oblivion about. This tells me that if Babel is -never-
powerful enough (which is what Good and the Church intend to insure)
Oblivion will -never- occur.
For instance, why are they raising shrines? If Oblivion is supposed to
occur, essence is nonsense. Why are they studying new rituals? Because
new information won't matter once your assimilated into Chaos. Why are
they using an ancient Aldar to fight their enemies of Creation? If
Creation can't stop Oblivion, -why- are they trying to fight those who
follow it? (I do wish someone might answer these, but I doubt they
will.) I think the reason is because Creation and the servants of Good
definitely -can- stop Oblivion.
Of course, my theory is a bit inaccurate if Babel doesn't -have- to
bring Oblivion about. I don't know if Chaos seeping into Creation is
enough to destroy it completely, or if a Divine must actually manipulate
the force of Chaos to cause such a thing. At any rate, even if the
latter is true, Good can still reverse Chaos and keep it on its side of
the fence, the way things are meant to be.
As always, I look forward to any thoughtful posts. Do maintain at least
basic standards of etiquette; it is so much easier to read a post
without a paragraph of insults starting it.
As we sing a cappella, may the Light keep us on Pitch!
