The Lord Scarlatti came to us, and He gifted us with nine muses, those
that give us our inspiration, whether to create beautiful masterpieces,
or to live each day as you have chosen, these seven spirits of Art and
Beauty continue to do their job as He intended.

The competition is this:

All participants are to seek out one of the Nine Muses in their
respective forests. Spend a while there, meditating on the Muse in front
of you. Then, you are to write some sort of written art, be it poetry, a
short story, prose, etc. It must be of reasonable length, and of high
quality.

The Muses, or Forest Spirits, are as follows:
Erato, the Lovely, of the Eastern Ithmia.
She is the Spirit of Lyric Art.
Thalia, the Flourishing, of the Northern Ithmia.
She is the Spirit of Comedy.
Clio, the Proclaimer, of the Western Ithmia.
She is the Spirit of History.
Melpomene, the Spirit of Tragedy, of the Black Forest.
Urania, the Heavenly, of the Darkenwood Forest.
She is the Spirit of Astronomy.
Euterpe, the Giver of Pleasure, of the Northreach Forest.
She is the Spirit of Music.
Polyhymnia, She of Many Hymns, of the Ulangi Forest.
She is the Spirit of Sacred Art.
Terpsichore, the Whirler, of the Aalen Forest.
She is the Spirit of Dancing
Calliope, the Fair Voiced, of the Aureliana Forest.
She is the Spirit of Epic Poetry

You have two years from the date of this posting to submit your story,
in letter form, along with an entrance fee of one-thousand gold.

The winner of the competition will receive 25% of the proceeds, as well
as an amulet with the image of the chosen Muse, to mark the occasion.
